StudAI Works, a Chennai company founded by theTN.ai's editor, offers a free check of how findable a business home page is for search engines and AI search.

What the check does

You enter your website address on the free website and AI search check. In about 30 seconds, StudAI Works says, it shows how findable, understandable and reachable your home page is for customers, search engines and AI search, with the three fixes that would help most.

The check reads only your public home page, its robots.txt file and its sitemap, and runs a speed test through Google PageSpeed Insights. It never logs in or submits forms, reads no more than one page per scan, and identifies itself to websites as StudAIWorksScanner.

The 12 checks and the score

Findable covers four checks: the page loads securely, search engines may index it, robots.txt lets search and AI search crawlers in (such as Googlebot, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot), and there is a sitemap or links to other pages.

Understandable checks for the business name, location and contact details; a page title, description and main heading; at least 150 words of useful text covering things like hours, areas served or pricing; and structured business data. Reachable checks for tap-to-call, email or WhatsApp links, a clear way to enquire, a booking or out-of-hours route, and whether the page works on a phone, including loading its main content within 2.5 seconds in a lab test.

Each check scores 1 for a pass, 0.5 for a warning and 0 for a fail. The overall score weights findable at 40%, understandable at 35% and reachable at 25%. Blocking AI training crawlers never costs points, and the check does not score llms.txt, saying Google does not use it.

Limits and privacy

Each report includes a short AI-written summary of the page text, labelled with the model's name. StudAI Works says it is not evidence of what ChatGPT, Google or any assistant says about a business, and it does not affect the score. The check looks at one page at one moment, so it is a guide, not a guarantee.

Reports are unlisted rather than private: anyone with the link can view one, though they are hidden from search engines. Your email is optional and is used to send a copy, not to subscribe you; tips and a follow-up call need separate boxes ticked. You can ask for a report to be removed, and StudAI Works says it does so within 7 days. The method page also offers a free call and a paid AI readiness assessment.

Other free checks

You do not need any one company's tool. Google's PageSpeed Insights tests speed on a phone, Search Console shows whether your pages are indexed, the Rich Results Test checks structured data, and Bing Webmaster Tools reports how often a site is cited in Microsoft Copilot. What it means for Tamil Nadu

A shop, clinic or coaching institute in Tamil Nadu can see in one go whether its home page blocks AI search crawlers, lacks a tap-to-call link, hides its address or loads slowly on a phone, and get a plain fix for each.

A good score does not mean an AI assistant will recommend the business. For local customers, a verified Google Business Profile matters too: Google says it helps a business appear on Search and Maps. And because reports are shared by link, owners should not post their report link in public.
